In March of 2009 “Synergy” was installed on a 15’ circular site at the entrance to the new LEED rated 55,000 sf. Redding Public Library in Redding, CA. The sculpture’s complex array of planes and angles produce a constantly changing visual composition as patrons enter and exit the library. The deep recesses in the folded sculptural forms create a kaleidoscope of color and shadow that constantly change throughout the day depending on the lighting conditions. Site selection and color were decided in collaboration with the selection committee, friends of the library, and two architects.
