“The sculptural concept behind the Synergy Series is that of one form folding into another form in a continuous sequence, thus creating a total effect that is greater than the individual parts. This Way-That Way, the first work in this series, was fabricated by literally folding a sculptural form. Works from this series communicate progressive visual imagery, energetic movement, simple yet complex spatial relationships, and an innovative fabrication method. The folded steel sculptures can be viewed from a variety of perspectives, each perspective providing a unique visual composition. The surface color also seems to change with the viewer’s orientation and lighting conditions.”
